"One Prospect's technology services are critical in supporting the technology needs of our tribe."

Forest County Potawatomi uses Technology
to Drive Tribal Success.
The Forest County Potawatomi are the largest employer in Forest County, Wisconsin. They provide many programs and services to their citizens through various tribal departments; administration, health & wellness, judicial, natural resources, family services, executive council, and more. They also operate over 25 business enterprises including two casinos, a hotel, restaurants, and a day care.
As a rural tribal community it was clear that technology was at the heart of their economic, cultural, and tribal sustainability. In 2007 the tribe was experiencing a need for improved IT Infrastructure. There was limited staff dedicated to IT and the tribe wanted to implement more technology but didn’t have the direction in place to move forward.
The Challenge – Delivering leading edge technology solutions to a diverse Tribal Nation
The Forest County Potawatomi executive leadership knew technology could drive progressive change for their tribe. Working with Tribal Administrator Eugene Shawano, they wanted to improve the systems and IT infrastructure of their Nation and give their tribe access to the tools they would need to succeed in a competitive environment. They also wanted to provide their tribal members with technology solutions that would enhance the quality of their lives and improve the efficiency of services delivered by their tribal departments.
Outsourcing your Tribal IT to improve performance
The Forest County Potawatomi has turned to One Prospect Technologies to design a technology roadmap for the tribe’s future growth. One Prospect serves as the tribe’s IT department supporting the tribal government, and over 35 different departments across 200 miles of connected tribal campus. In addition to that, every tribal house-hold on the reservation has access to broadband internet connectivity providing greater access to economic, educational, and cultural resources.
Osage Home Health Care
The Challenge
The Osage Nation wanted to improve the mobility and connectivity of their Home Health Care staff. While their mission was to deliver health care to patients in their homes, their paper-based reporting system meant they had to fill out reports manually in the field and then transcribe them on their office computers. After hearing about solutions we’d developed for the Potawatomi, they asked One Prospect for a recommendation.
The One Prospect Solution
We designed and installed a cloud-based Virtual Desktop that staff can access anytime, anywhere with any internet-connected device to review charts, update patient information or accomplish any of the work they previously could only do on their office computers. We also worked with AT&T to ensure staff wouldn’t have connectivity issues in or out of the office.
The results? More time with patients and less time filling out reports and for 50% less than a traditional server-based solution.
